Four Years of Saying It

Maybe I see a urologist. Or maybe I just accept it. I've been saying that for a while now.
Here's the thing about "a while." I said it the first time about four years ago. I said it again last spring. I said it to my brother-in-law in his kitchen, and he nodded, and that was that.
And in my head, saying it put the whole thing on pause. Like nothing was moving while I decided.
That's the part that turned out to be wrong. Whatever's been building up in there didn't wait for me to make a decision. It doesn't hold steady. It just stopped being obvious, because it happens slowly enough that you adjust instead of noticing.
Four years of accepting it isn't four years of nothing happening. It's four years of something happening quietly.
