The Verdict I Passed on Myself

Maybe I'm just the guy it doesn't work on. I've thought that sentence more times than I'll admit. It didn't come from nowhere. It came from eleven products. Each one arrived with hope and left with nothing, and somewhere around the fourth or fifth, I quietly stopped filing that as information about the product. Here's what took me years to see. A null result from something aimed at the wrong place tells you nothing about the patient. Nothing. Eleven failures never told me anything about my body. They told me about the shelf. Every one of them was doing the same job, and it wasn't the job that needed doing. My research was good. My records were good. My conclusion was the only thing that was wrong, and it was wrong because nobody had ever handed me the missing piece. The missing piece is written up below.
